Rev. Stephen S. Lambert, M.Div., Psy.D., has taught over 5,000 students since coming to APU in 1996. He won the 2009-10 APU Inspirational Faculty of the Year Award and in 2011 he was voted Faculty of the Year by student government. He is an ordained minister, certified pastoral psychotherapist, and licensed marriage and family therapist with over 15,000 hours of clinical and pastoral counseling work, primarily with socially and economically disadvantaged populations. Lambert's primary passion is for the synthesis of pastoral theology and practice with psychological theory and practice. He is especially interested in existential psychotherapy and family psychology and research related to how world religions and cultures affect family structure and process. He is well liked by students, as he considers his mentoring and relational roles with students his primary commitment, viewing them as co-partners in a quest to bring hope and greater meaning to a suffering world.
