Graduate Programs
Master's Degrees
	Articulated RN to MSN
	The Articulated RN to Master of Science in Nursing is designed for registered nurses who have a bachelor's degree in a health-related discipline other than nursing, offering the opportunity to pursue both bachelor's and master's degrees in nursing.
	Asian Program (graduate theology courses in English and Korean)
	The Asian Program offers bilingual courses in English and Korean for the various graduate degree programs in Haggard Graduate School of Theology. Blending Korean culture with the principles of God's Word, the program provides academic excellence coupled with practical ministry training.
	Christian Education, M.A.
	The Master of Arts in Christian Education Program is designed for persons seeking preparation in the specialized field of educational ministries.
	Clinical Psychology: Marriage and Family Therapy, M.A.
	Theory and hands-on practice prepares counselors to work with individuals, couples, and families by integrating theology, ethics, and psychotherapy. Meets California licensure requirements.
	College Student Affairs, M.Ed.
	Develops professionals equipped to support and enhance the in- and out-of-classroom experience of college students through curricular and extracurricular activities that promote personal and academic growth.
	Conducting, M.M.
	The Master of Music in Conducting prepares musicians for professional careers in the specialized and competitive field of conducting.
	Curriculum and Instruction in Multicultural Contexts, M.A.Ed.
	For K-12 credentialed teachers, provides instructional strategies for the multicultural classroom. Focuses on personal, social, academic, and literacy development, emphasizing communication with families and communities.
	Early Entry into Nursing and Advanced Practice (EENAP)
	EENAP students complete pre-licensure theory and clinical course work leading to a BSN and may continue on with courses that lead to advanced practice in nursing, specifically the MSN degree.
	Educational Counseling (with an embedded School Counseling Credential), M.A.Ed.
	Prepares school counselors to communicate with and guide students of all cultures, socioeconomic levels, and learning abilities. Requirements for the Pupil Personnel Services Credential are embedded within the program.
	Educational Leadership: Educational Technology and Learning, M.A.
	Prepares candidates to serve as effective innovative school administrators.
	Educational Leadership, M.A.
	Prepares educators for advanced roles such as faculty mentor, curriculum planner, department chair, or private school principal. Also offered in conjunction with the Tier I credential.
	Educational Psychology (with an embedded School Psychology Credential), M.A.Ed.
	Prepares school psychologist to evaluate and treat students of all cultures, socioeconomic levels, and learning abilities. Requirements for the Pupil Personnel Services Credential are embedded within the program.
	Educational Technology and Learning, M.A.
	Provides educators with technology skills than can be integrated into daily curricula. Combines hands-on instruction and online learning, emphasizing Web 2.0 tools such as video, web design, podcasting, digital imaging, and blogs immediately applicable for today's classroom.
	Educational Technology Online Program, M.A.
	This program, conducted entirely online, empowers 21st century educators to infuse and implement technology into K-U teaching and learning classrooms and online learning communities.
	Education, M.M.
	The Master of Music Education prepares current and prospective teaching professionals as school music specialists qualified to lead K-12 music programs in both private and public sectors.
	Hispanic Program, Master of Arts in Pastoral Studies
	The Master of Arts in Pastoral Studies Program consists of 60 semester units taught in three stages: 20 units taught in Spanish by Hispanic professors, 20 units taught in a bilingual setting with the aid of a bilingual staff and teaching assistant, and the remaining 20 units taught in English. Hispanic students are thus prepared to embrace two cultures and two languages, and to provide a Christian witness where God has called them to minister.
	Human Physiology, M.S.
	The Master of Science in Human Physiology provides students with in-depth anatomic and physiologic study of the human body, as well as research emphasis on human anatomy, physiology, performance, and biochemical systems.
	Human Resource and Organizational Development, M.A.

	Leadership and Organizational Studies, M.A.
	This accelerated degree for working professionals teaches advanced skills in multicultural matters, research, ethics, strategic planning, and people and organizational management for promotion, advancement, and/or career change.
	Master of Arts in Theological Formation
	The Master of Arts in Theological Formation Program is designed for every type of ministry leader: community professionals, businessmen and women, volunteer ministers, church staff, and pastors. The program encourages the student's ongoing conversion, those increments of growth that happen intellectually and spiritually, resulting in greater Christ-likeness and deeper community.

	M.Div. (Master of Divinity)
	The Master of Divinity Program prepares men and women for professional ministry in the church by providing solid training in biblical, theological, and ministerial studies.
	MFA (Master of Fine Arts in Visual Art)

	Nursing, Master of Science (MSN)
	Nationally accredited, the Master of Science in Nursing prepares students in advanced theory and practice in a specialized clinical area of nursing.
	Operation Impact: Organizational Leadership, M.A.
	Provides educational support internationally to leaders of mission, government, nongovernment, and nonprofit organizations in a distributed-learning approach to global-learning groups worldwide.
	Organizational Leadership, M.A.
	For experienced professionals in positions of leadership, this interdisciplinary, intercultural, international program hones leadership skills through experiential study of organizational life and action research.
	Pastoral Studies, M.A.
	The Master of Arts in Pastoral Studies Program is designed for persons seeking preparation in a specialized field of ministry. Concentrations include church leadership and development, urban studies, worship leadership, and youth ministry.
	Performance, M.M.
	The Master of Music in Performance allows specialization in conducting, instrumental performance, piano and organ performance, and vocal performance.
	Physical Education, M.S.
	Prepares graduates for careers in physical education, sociology of sport, and sport psychology, as well as program administration, consulting, and admission to doctoral programs.
	School Librarianship Online Program, M.A.Ed.
	Offered in conjunction with the Library Media Teacher Credential, this degree develops school library and media specialists as educational leaders in their districts. Graduates are recognized as experts at the state level.
	Second Careers and Nursing (S.C.A.N.)
	S.C.A.N. provides graduate-level nursing education for those who hold baccalaureate or higher degrees in other disciplines.
	Social Work, MSW
	The Master of Social Work Program offers concentration courses that allow students to specialize in a selected area of social work practice. The MSW degree is considered the most appropriate academic credential for advanced social work practice and is a requirement for professional licensure in most states.
	Special Education, M.A.Ed.
	Offering the master’s in special education without the credential, this program provides the training and experiences that lead to confident, competent, and compassionate care of persons with disabilities.
	Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages, M.A.

	Theological Studies, M.A.
	The Master of Arts in Theological Studies Program is designed for individuals seeking advanced academic training in biblical studies or theology and ethics in preparation for teaching in Christian schools and colleges, or for doctoral studies in Bible or theology and ethics.
Doctoral Degrees
	Clinical Psychology: Family Psychology, Psy.D.
	The recognized degree for practitioners, APU’s Psy.D. provides comprehensive training. This practitioner-scholar program combines science and practice, emphasizing service, and meets California licensure requirements.
	Educational Leadership, Ed.D.
	Prepares graduates to assume elementary and secondary administrative positions at school site, district office or county, state, and federal levels in public or private education.
	Higher Education Leadership, Ed.D.
	Qualifies graduates for leadership roles in colleges and universities, especially in student development, academic support, academic leadership, and institutional administration.
	Higher Education, Ph.D.
	The Ph.D. in Higher Education develops scholars who are able to conduct original research and interpret and communicate the results of that research through their writing, teaching, and leadership. This program serves higher education professionals who work full time while completing 18 units per year in the doctoral program.
	Ministry, D.Min.
	The Doctor of Ministry Program renews and transforms ministry leaders, churches, and communities, equipping them to spread the message of Jesus Christ.
	Nursing, PhD
	The PhD in Nursing, with an emphasis in either Health of the Family and the Community or International Health, is a research-based program designed to prepare graduates for a life of scholarship and teaching.
	Physical Therapy, DPT
	Emphasizes the scientific basis of human structure and movement, the spiritual basis of human worth, and the integration of these elements into a comprehensive approach to evaluation and treatment. Graduates gain a solid generalist perspective of patient care in a variety of professional treatment settings.
	Physical Therapy (Transitional), DPT
	Designed for licensed physical therapists from a CAPTE-accredited program to earn the DPT in 24-49 units, depending on their educational and clinical background. Supplies augmentation of knowledge, skills, and behaviors at a level consistent with the current professional DPT standards.
	Pre-Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology Program
	For those without a master’s in psychology, this program offers a one-year sequence of courses in preparation for the Psy.D. curriculum, with an opportunity to earn the master's after one year in the Psy.D. Program.

	Prepares credentialed teachers to work with second-language learners.
	Intensive English Programs (Advanced Levels)
	The American Language and Culture Institute (ALCI) offers a certificate program with six levels of study (beginning through advanced) taught in eight-week sessions. These sessions operate year-round and offer approximately 20 hours of class time per week. Become proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English; receive training in presentation skills, research skills, and cross-cultural leadership; and take graduate courses for credit while enrolled in ALCI.
Credentials
	Mild/Moderate Disabilities (K-12) Specialist Credential Level II
	All who hold the Level I credential must clear it within five years by completing Level II, an advanced course of study that deepens understanding and hones the skills of special education teachers.
	Mild/Moderate Disabilities (K-12) Specialist Credential Level I, Track A
	For noncontracted teachers, this special education credential program prepares educators to skillfully and compassionately guide mild to moderately disabled students (K-12).
	Mild/Moderate Disabilities (K-12) Specialist Internship Credential Level I, Track B
	For contracted teacher interns, this credential in special education imparts the specialized knowledge and skills necessary for teachers of mild to moderately disabled students (K-12).
	Multiple-Subject Teaching Credential
	The Multiple-Subject Teaching Credential Program prepares teachers for positions at the elementary and middle school levels (K-8). The program is CCTC and NCATE accredited.
	Preliminary Administrative Services Credential and Internship Credential (PASC), Tier I
	This program allows candidates to complete their credential while filling an administrative position under university and district supervision, gaining leadership skills from an ethical approach.
	Professional Administrative Services Credential (PASC), Tier II
	For those holding a Tier I credential, this advanced training program satisfies the state requirement for professional development and prepares full-time administrators for higher-level positions.
	Single-Subject Teaching Credential
	The Single-Subject Teaching Credential Program prepares teachers for positions at the middle and high school levels (7-12), and K-12 specialists in art, music, and physical education.
	Teacher Librarian Services Credential
	Prepares experts in technology, literature, and diversity online to assist students in research, coordinate library programs for districts and counties, and supervise classified personnel.

	This combined program allows students to earn a master’s degree along with the Parent-Child Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) Credential, including a specialization in Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP), preparing them for certification by the state of California and for national certification.
	MSN with School Nurse Services Credential and PNP or FNP
	This combined program allows students to earn a master’s degree along with the School Nurse Services Credential, including a specialization in Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), preparing them for certification by the state of California and for national certification.

	This specialty credential is a non-degree course credit option, preparing registered nurses with master’s degrees in nursing to be nurse practitioners for patients across the adult years.

	This specialty credential is a non-degree course credit option, preparing registered nurses with master’s degrees in nursing to be nurse practitioners for adults in primary healthcare settings.

	Parish Nursing
	Parish Nursing is an interdisciplinary program that prepares nurses to serve within churches or other religiously based settings as nurse specialists in spiritual aspects of patient care.
