Linda Searle Leach, PhD, is a professor in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences at Azusa Pacific University and is a nurse scientist for Huntington Health. She is a recognized nurse leader in administration, association leadership, and leadership development among nurses. Her focus is healthcare delivery, nursing leadership, healthcare teams and work environment, and clinician well-being. Her research includes three studies examining rapid response teams in hospitals for patient safety, nursing leadership among nurse administrators, nursing leadership development for nurse executives, and determining priorities for nursing leadership research. She is experienced with quantitative and qualitative research and a program of nursing research to advance a culture of inquiry in Magnet hospitals. Leach was the national president of the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN) and the AACN Certification Corporation, the largest specialty nursing organization in the world. She served on the Association of California Nurse Leaders Board of Directors, as research committee chair, and received the Excellence in Leadership award. She is board-certified as a Nurse Executive Advanced (NEA-BC).
