Biography

Margaret Brady, PhD, RN, CPNP-PC, focused her professional career educating students for the roles of pediatric nurse practitioner (PNP) and credential school nurses (CSN). Her work as a PNP has included specializing in the care of children and teens suffering maltreatment. She has served as a co-author for seven editions of Pediatric Primary Care, a leading textbook for PNPs delivery primary care. Dr. Brady was appointed the Director of the Azusa Pacific University (APU) School Nurse Services Credential (SNSC) Program in 2002 and later became the director of the pediatric nurse practitioner program. Her publications include research articles, book chapters, and content focused articles. As the SNSC program director, she developed the curriculum for the traditional SNSC-only program, the Master of Science in School Nursing, and worked to establish a SNSC option combined with the PNP and FNP degree programs.
Dr. Brady is a past president of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board. She is the past president of the Los Angeles and Orange County Chapters of NAPNAP and has participated in other various leadership positions in these local professional nursing organizations.

APU's SNSC and PNP graduates serve in leadership positions within elementary and secondary school and pediatric practice settings, School nurses know that children must be healthy to learn, and they must learn to be healthy. PNPs deliver primary pediatric healthcare to their pediatric patients to help them achieve health and wellness. Together our SNSC and PNP graduates strive to ensure the health and safety of the children, so they can have a bright future.
