SoCal Adventure: Climb, surf, and hike!

Students on this trip will camp on the gorgeous Pacific Coast in Malibu, between the ocean and the Santa Monica Mountains. We will rock climb, surf, and hike to give you a taste of what the area near APU has to offer. Students will arrive on campus the morning of August 3 to meet the instructors, pack, and head to our camping location. We will climb multiple days at pristine crags, surf the amazing coastline, and summit ridges for wondrous views of seashore. After a week of playing outdoors and making new friends, we will be back on campus the evening of August 8. All levels of experience are welcome!

What: Climb, surf, and hike in Southern California
When: August 3, 11 a.m.–August 8, 5 p.m. (2014)
Where: Pt. Mugu State Park in Malibu, California. Meet at APU and return to APU.
Cost: $425–Includes transportation to the mountains, food, group gear (tents, stoves, climbing gear, surf boards), and instructors.

Yosemite: Backpack and climb!

This trip includes a week of adventure, highlighted by rock climbing, backpacking, and a 24-hour solo experience in the Ansel Adams Wilderness just outside Yosemite National Park. This area is considered one of the most beautiful places in the country, with views into Yosemite, the Ritter Range, and Mammoth. This trip is truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

Students will meet at APU on July 19 and prepare for their trip, pack, and meet the participants and course instructors. The group will stay on campus for the night and depart the next morning. The group returns on July 26 in the afternoon. Students may arrive the day before the trip or stay afterwards; housing may be available on campus.

What: Backpacking and rock climbing in the Ansel Adams Wilderness in the Sierra Nevada near Yosemite

Where: Ansel Adams Wilderness, CA. Meet at APU's main campus and return to APU.

Mexico: Serve and grow!

This adventure is a service-learning trip to APU’s Ensenada campus, Rancho El Refugio, in Mexico.* The trip is an opportunity to serve others, grow in who you are, and think deeply about Christ’s Kingdom. Whether you’ve grown up participating in mission trips or if this will be your first one, it promises to be an exciting experience. Students will meet at APU on July 27 and prepare for the trip, pack, and meet participants and course instructors. The group will stay on campus and depart the next morning for a week with APU’s Mexico Outreach program. After a beautiful week of service, we will return to campus on August 2.
