Spring signals a number of beginnings. Students, faculty, and staff are rejuvenated and ready to begin anew. As January approaches, I find myself energized by the possibilities waiting just ahead. The APU campus jumps back to life with excitement for a promising semester as students return from Christmas break. I am thrilled to welcome not only returning students, but new students and their family members as well, into the APU community this spring.
In eager anticipation, the faculty and staff plan carefully for the arrival of new students and their families. I do not merely mean that lectures are prepared and residence halls readied. I mean that life-changing experiences are in store. The professors view their role as a calling—and take it seriously. They will challenge and stretch students, supporting and guiding them on an amazing journey of academic and spiritual growth. APU is place of transformational scholarship. I guarantee you will not leave unchanged.
The first step on this odyssey is Orientation. Whether you are a first-time freshman, transfer student, parent, family member, or friend, this event is an invaluable part of your introduction to campus and the APU way of life. Committed to dispelling the myth that orientations must consist of dry, yawn-invoking lectures, our Student Life team makes the whole Orientation process an invigorating jolt of energy, infused with a healthy amount of practical information.
So welcome to APU! I have prayed for your preparation during this transition and for the incredible things God has planned for you. I realize this time is as important in the lives of students as it is for those who support and encourage their growth, and I am confident that your journey at APU will reveal unimagined strengths and opportunities. I look forward to meeting you!
