What is a matching gift?
Many companies encourage philanthropy by matching their employees’ gifts to colleges and universities such as Azusa Pacific. Most match the gift dollar for dollar, and some will even double or triple the amount. Participating companies may also recognize donations made by retirees and/or spouses of employees.
Generally, a matching gift will go toward the same program as your donation unless your company’s policy requires otherwise. The matched funds sent to APU will count toward your total giving and may qualify you for membership in the university’s donor recognition program.
Will my company match my gift?
To find out if your company has a matching gift program, please inquire with your company’s human resources department, or contact Azusa Pacific University’s matching gift coordinator at (626) 815-5333 or email@example.com.
How does it work?
Some companies require the employee to complete a Matching Gift Form, usually available from personnel or human resources. Other companies ask their employees to submit the request online. If your company requires a paper form, complete your portion and send it to APU. We will do the rest!
