In a recent CBS Evening News interview, Azusa Pacific University senior Janelle Hardin talks about what it's like being friends with her mother on Facebook. Hardin admits she was a little uneasy when she saw a Facebook friend request from her mom, but she did decide to accept her mom's request, unlike many other young people in her position. Now she likes using it as a way to keep in touch.

"It was weird when my mom got on [Facebook] because I didn't know she knew how to do stuff like that and it is weird to see your parents on a Facebook profile," said Hardin.

Some parents admit that they go on Facebook to spy on their kids, and many kids simply ignore their parents' friend request in order to maintain their personal cyber-space.
