Library Patrons

APU Students

While they are enrolled at APU, students have access to a large collection of print and online materials. Current students are automatically entered into the Libraries’ circulation database, which allows them to check out books and media and access online materials. Material check-out periods are as follows:

Items can be renewed through a student's online library account.

Regional Center, Online, and Off-campus Students

APU Regional Center, online, and off campus students, faculty, and staff hold the same privileges and responsibilities as Azusa campus patrons, but their materials will be mailed (books, media, and kits) or emailed (articles) from the Azusa campus libraries. Mailing is free of charge, and pre-paid return envelopes are included.

Books and media may be requested by selecting "By Mail" as the pickup location on the request screen in the library catalog. Articles may be requested through the ArticleReach option in the library's databases and via the Article Finder form. More information is available on the Interlibrary Services page. Check the library catalog for the location of the materials you need, and use LINK+ to request unavailable items.

Doctoral Students

Doctoral students may be able to reserve private study rooms in the Libraries for a semester. Space is limited and is allocated by department. Doctoral students should contact their department assistant to see if space is available.

University College Students

University College (UC) students have access to all APU library resources.

In order to utilize the library resources, University College students must access library resources through the UC student portal.

Visiting Students

APU participates in the LINK+ visiting patron program. Students from other LINK+ institutions may visit the APU Libraries and borrow APU library materials in accordance with LINK+ policies. Students who are part of other consortiums may need to contact their home libraries to arrange borrowing privileges.

Visiting students may receive one-time in-person access to APU online databases by registering as visitors at the circulation desk in any library.

Non-APU students who live near Azusa may wish to register as Courtesy Patrons with privileges (book checkout, computer use, etc.) by paying a fee of $20.00/year. A picture ID is required upon registration. The registration fee is waived for alumni and local clergy, who will need to show proof of alumni or clergy status. Courtesy Patron registration can be done at any library circulation desk.
