The university welcomes patrons not affiliated with APU as a student, faculty member, or staff member to use the APU Libraries' resources. Priority is given to the APU community, and certain restrictions on database use and electronic resources may exist. Although we try to accommodate all library patrons, APU students, faculty and staff do have priority over Courtesy Patrons in the use of library facilities and services.
To borrow materials, visitors must complete the “APU Guest Library Patron Registration” form, available at the Circulation Desk at the Stamps, Marshburn, and Darling libraries, must be completed and presented with a photo ID.
In addition, APU alumni must present an alumni card (available from the Office of Alumni and Parent Relations) and area clergy must present a business card. SCATLA members must present the card issued by their school. SCELC members must present the form issued by their school. Community residents pay $20 per year for the privilege of using the libraries. The fee is waived for APU alumni, area clergy and SCATLA and SCELC members.
Courtesy Patrons must present a photo ID and a valid Courtesy Patron card to check out books (maximum five items per visit). Date due bookmarks are available at the Circulation Desk. The APU library online catalog, APOLIS2, will also indicate the due date. The loan period for most materials is four weeks. Reserve materials and Media materials may not be checked out by Courtesy Patrons. Because of our contractual arrangements with the organizations involved, Courtesy patrons are not permitted to use the University's InterLibrary Loan or LINK+ facilities.
University College Students
University College (UC) students have access to all APU library resources.
In order to utilize the library resources, University College students must access library resources through the UC student portal.
APU participates in the LINK+ visiting patron program. Students from other LINK+ institutions may visit the APU Libraries and borrow APU library materials in accordance with LINK+ policies. Students who are part of other consortiums may need to contact their home libraries to arrange borrowing privileges.
Visiting students may receive one-time in-person access to APU online databases by registering as visitors at the circulation desk in any library.
Non-APU students who live near Azusa may wish to register as Courtesy Patrons with privileges (book checkout, computer use, etc.) by paying a fee of $20.00/year. A picture ID is required upon registration. The registration fee is waived for alumni and local clergy, who will need to show proof of alumni or clergy status. Courtesy Patron registration can be done at any library circulation desk.
