Public Transportation

There is a variety of public transportation options for Azusa Pacific students, including the following:

Foothill Transit Bus System

For the 2019-20 academic year, Azusa Pacific University and Foothill Transit have partnered up to bring the Class Pass to campus. This an electronic farecard that gives APU students unlimited rides on Foothill Transit local and Silver Streak buses. During this pilot year, currently enrolled Azusa Pacific students can get a Class Pass for FREE!

Where Can I Use the Class Pass?

The Class Pass is accepted on all Foothill Transit local and Silver Streak buses, which connect to 22 cities throughout the San Gabriel and Pomona valleys, and even go into downtown Los Angeles. You can connect to the Silver Streak at Plaza West Covina (via Line 281) for a perfect way to see a game at the STAPLES Center or to explore amazing art at The Broad. Visit the Foothill Transit website or call 1-800-RIDE-INFO (743-3463) to plan your trip today.

Which Lines Serve Azusa Pacific?

Foothill Transit Lines 188, 281, 284, and 488 travel next to campus, stopping along Citrus Avenue, Foothill Boulevard, and Alosta Avenue.

How Do I Get a Class Pass?

Bring your current student ID to the Cougar Dome and ask for your Class Pass. To activate your pass, make sure you use it at least once within the first two weeks—if you don’t, you may need to visit the Cougar Dome again to reload it.

How Does the Class Pass Work?

When you board the bus, simply touch your TAP card on the TAP symbol on the farebox until you hear a beep—that means your fare was accepted.

What if I Lose My Pass?

Bring your student ID to the Cougar Dome to report your lost pass. There is a $10 replacement fee to get a new TAP card, and you’ll get a new Class Pass on the spot!

Metro Gold Line

Students commuting from the Los Angeles area can take public transportation to Azusa Pacific University using the Metro Gold Line, disembarking at the APU/Citrus College Station, located on Citrus Avenue and within walking distance of APU’s East and West campuses. The APU/Citrus College Station is the final stop on the line connecting Azusa to Pasadena and downtown Los Angeles.

Discount TAP cards are available for students; the regular fare for a one-way trip is $1.75.

Metrolink Train

Students may also access the Metrolink train.

Azusa Pacific’s recent partnership with VeoRide introduces an affordable, environmentally friendly method of transportation to all members of the APU community. Whether traveling to your next class or going to a local restaurant for lunch, 81 GPS-equipped bikes are ready for use in peak areas around campus. Simply download the VeoRide app from the Apple Store or Google Play to view a map and find a bike station near you. Once you locate one, scan the QR code on the front bar of a bike to unlock it. Monthly and yearly passes are available for purchase at a flat rate, or pay for rides per 15-minute interval. At the end of your trip, just park the bike at any bike rack on the APU campus.
