Transportation Services

Transportation Services is responsible for the maintenance of the university’s fleet of buses and vans, as well as for providing daily transportation between the East and West Campuses.

Mission Statement

The mission of Transportation Services is to honor God by providing the APU community and guests with excellent, safe, and professional transportation service, making sure to always be courteous, reliable, responsible, and friendly.

Team Verse

“Honor all people. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the King.”
—1 Peter 2:17

Trolleys and Buses

Transportation Services utilizes trolleys and buses to shuttle people between East and West campuses from 6:45 a.m.–11 p.m. Monday through Friday during normal class sessions. We do not operate on holidays or during summer months. Keep tabs on the trolleys using the Trolley Tracker.

Over-the-Road Buses

Transportation Services manages two large over-the-road buses. One is a 29-passenger bus with a cargo hold; the second is a 24-passenger. Both of these buses are equipped with new DVD players with monitors and new sound systems.

Rental Vans

Transportation Services manages a fleet of 8-, 11-, and 12-passenger vans for use by the APU community. Drivers of the 8-passenger vans are required to possess a valid class C license. By state law, all 11- and 12-passenger van drivers are required to possess a class B license. Learn How to Get a Class B License (PDF).

Vehicle Reservation Request

To use a vehicle, van, or bus, complete a Vehicle Reservation Request (MS Word), which is available at the University Services/Transportation Services link below. Vehicle requests can be emailed to jhaynes@apu.edu, can be filled out and dropped off at the Facilities Management office, or sent by intracampus mail. All reservation requests must be filled out completely with the driver’s name, dates, destination, account number, department, contact name, and phone number. Transportation Services will contact the department to confirm after receiving the request. Requests are only accepted up to 11 months in advance.
