Video Introduction
Greg Bellinder, PhD candidate, joined Azusa Pacific University in 2014 as an adjunct professor in the adapted physical education program and was hired as an assistant professor in 2016. He is passionate about the meaningful inclusion of students with disabilities in physical education classes with their nondisabled peers, as well as the inclusion of people with disabilities in the local and global church.
Bellinder was awarded APU’s Chase A. Sawtell Inspirational Faculty Award in 2025. He teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in motor development, physical education, and adapted physical education. In each of his undergraduate courses, Bellinder prioritizes academic service-learning, touting the irreplaceable value added by the hands-on application of course content. At the post-baccalaureate level, he leads the Adapted Physical Education Specialist Credential program. At all levels, he enjoys investing in students.
Before joining APU full-time, Bellinder worked for 11 years in a Southern California school district as an adapted PE specialist, teaching physical education to students with diverse abilities. He and his wife, Beth (an APU alumna), have been blessed with four amazing children. In their free time, the Bellinders enjoy hiking and serving at their local church.
