Biography
Martin Rodriguez, PhD, was born in Modesto, California and raised in Puebla Mexico. Like many bicultural Latinx peoples, he has learned to survive and thrive in the liminal space between cultural narratives. Before joining Azusa's faculty, Rodriguez's love for God and the global church led him to five years of missionary work among emerging Christian leaders in East Asia. Martin has seventeen years of leadership experience in intercultural communities. He is currently working on a book about missional leadership practices that honor God’s agency and the agency of cultural others in the midst of pluralism and power asymmetries. In his teaching and scholarship, Martin aims to celebrate and promote the work of underrepresented minority leaders.
