In the News: Entrepreneur Grace Eleyae ’09 Recognized by Huffington Post
January 09, 2017
Huffington Post honored Grace Eleyae ’09, inventor of Satin Lined Caps (SLAPS). She was named an African American female founder dominating the market in 2016.
She graduated from APU with a bachelor’s degree in marketing. Eleyae developed SLAPS to protect hair from harsh conditions. She got the idea after a trip to Kenya resulted in damaged and brittle hair. The cap features an inner satin lining that keeps hair protected and moisturized. An outer cotton knit blend makes the accessory stylish and functional.
