Biography

Jessica Wong, Ph.D., focuses her research on theological anthropology, cultural studies, and theologies of liberation, with a focus on race and gender. Positioning the study of Christian theology alongside contemporary issues in her scholarship and teaching, she emphasizes the social implications of Christianity and the often-subversive call of the Christian faith. Wong has served in church and parachurch contexts, including work in Cape Town, South Africa, organizing a refugee center for victims of the 2008 xenophobic attacks.
