All APU Application Deadlines
In the fall and spring semesters, an enrollment waiting list may be established before the final application deadlines. For top consideration for admissions and financial aid, submit your application as early as possible.
These dates apply to incoming freshmen and transfer students.
Fall Semester
- March 1: Priority application deadline
- June 1: Final deadline (freshman)
- August 1: Final deadline (transfer)
Spring Semester
- October 15: Priority application deadline
- December 1: Final deadline (freshman and transfer)

General Education Transfer Deadlines
As a transfer student, you are notified about your application on a rolling admission process. When there are no additional spaces in the incoming class, you may be placed on an enrollment waiting list, so submit your application materials as soon as possible.
In addition to traditional undergraduate dates, keep these deadlines in mind:
- August 1: Final transfer deadline for the fall semester
- December 1: Final transfer deadline for the spring semester
Transferring to APU from a Community College
The Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT), a pathway to join the APU community, guarantees priority admission with junior standing after you earn an associate’s degree in your chosen field. Requirements vary based on your community college and the bachelor’s degree you want to pursue.
Some programs require you to complete the path on this timeline:
- September 30: Earn ADT for fall admission
- January 31: Earn ADT for spring admission
Other transfer plans require ADT completion by specific deadlines for two eight-week sessions per term:

Summer Bridge Supports First-Generation Students
The APU Summer Bridge Program prepares you for the adjustment to college before official classes begin. For five weeks, you join professors and other program members for realistic class and coursework experiences. Faculty mentoring, on-campus housing, and peer social events help you build a strong, long-lasting support system.
This 100% free program is available to admitted first-generation students pursuing select degrees.
