Creating Consistent Rhythms of Community Worship
The Office of Corporate Worship focuses on creating a consistent rhythm of intentional worship experiences, including chapel, for Azusa Pacific students to encourage spiritual formation by means of a biblical, diverse, relevant, and challenging curriculum utilizing creative arts, gifted speakers, and Christian practices.
Our passion is to craft experiences that will impact your life now and beyond your time at APU. Our prayer is that we are all transformed as a result of these experiences together.

Chapel: A Critical Experience
Chapel is an essential part of your APU experience. Gathering for a consistent rhythm of corporate worship builds our sense of community, and creates an opportunity to grow together as disciples and scholars.
APU selects speakers and presenters who communicate useful messages rooted in Scripture, who speak practically and challenge our assumptions about what it means to be Christ followers in the world today. These include some of our own staff and faculty, local church pastors, and authors, speakers, and recording artists from around the world.

A Co-Curricular University Requirement
Because APU is first and foremost a Christian learning community, chapel is a co-curricular learning requirement, and a standard of APU life. Chapel is not only a worshiping community, but is also the university’s largest classroom where spiritual formation becomes our shared rhythm. Since chapel is critical to our spiritual identity as a Christian university, regular attendance is required for all full-time undergraduate students.

Lastly, chapel is not church! While chapel experiences and church services may appear similar, they are very different. Chapel is not a suitable replacement for participation in a local church community, and we encourage you to seek out a local church.
