We’re so excited you’re planning to continue your education journey with Azusa Pacific, and we can’t wait to welcome you to APU this fall. We know the process can seem a little daunting at first as you prepare to transition to college, so we created the following month-by-month checklist to help you complete the essential requirements before you start your first day on campus.

On-Campus Events Canceled; Attend a Virtual Event

On-campus events are currently canceled. Instead, we invite you to participate in one of our online events to learn more about APU, or experience campus from home by viewing our student portraits and stories. First Steps

Make Your Enrollment Deposit

For admitted students, submitting your enrollment deposit is the first step in saying, “I’m ready to start my journey at Azusa Pacific.” Submit your deposit through CASHNet using the button below. Click on “Enrollment Deposit” and complete the payment information. For questions, contact Undergraduate and International Admissions at (626) 812-3016.

Online Admissions Events

To safeguard the health and wellbeing of our current and prospective APU family, on-campus visit events and tours are temporarily canceled. Join us for one of our upcoming online events to learn more about APU, or discover the APU difference from home by viewing our student portraits and alumni stories.

Campus Housing

Complete your request for campus housing form. Students who have deposited will receive the form beginning in January to their email. If you have any questions or have not received the form please contact admissions at (626) 812-3016 or admissions@apu.edu.

New Student Checklist

It’s official! You’ve deposited! Now you can start taking the next steps as an APU student. The following checklist includes an overview of what you need to do, as well as a general timeline and deadlines; however, we highly recommend submitting any required forms, registrations, or assessments as soon as you are able. Let’s get started!

In April

Complete Your Registration Profile

Your admissions counselor will provide you with this form, which captures your academic profile, including in-progress work and any AP or IB tests you have taken or will take at the conclusion of your senior year. This helps us best advise you on class choice as you begin building your academic schedule. You will also choose which Summer Orientation you will attend. Questions? Set Up Your Student Portal Access

After you submit your registration profile, you’ll receive an email with instructions on how to access your student portal at home.apu.edu. This is where you will register for classes, make payments, and more. Questions? Contact Undergraduate and International Admissions at (626) 812-3016.

Take Any Necessary Placement Assessments

These assessments are used to place you into courses that match your current and potential skills and abilities, and must be completed before you register for your first APU class in the corresponding subjects. Select each subject below to follow the steps and see if you are required to take an assessment, and steps for taking that assessment.

In May

Immigration

International students who are not currently studying in the USA will need to obtain a student visa. Learn more about Student Visa and Immigration.

International students who are currently studying in the USA at a high school, community college, or other university will need to complete the Transfer In Authorization Form (PDF) and submit it to the immigration advisor (DSO) at their current school.

Class Registration

Course registration will take place at the Summer Orientation you attend. Our staff will walk you through registering for fall semester classes and will provide resources and assistance answering any questions you may have. Attend Summer Orientation

In light of county and state guidelines implemented to curb the spread of COVID-19, all on-campus summer orientation and registration events will now take place online, with the first event taking place in mid-May. Specific dates and times are forthcoming and will be announced by email.

In June

Sign Up for Global Student Orientation

Recommended Registration by June 30

We can’t wait to welcome you! International students are required to attend both Global Student Orientation (August 21-22) and Welcome Days. International students who are U.S. citizens are welcome to attend Global Student Orientation, but are not required to attend. Plan to arrive on the APU campus no earlier than August 15 and no later than August 20. For questions, contact International Students and Scholars at iss@apu.edu.

Submit Immunization Records

Log onto home.apu.edu. On the left side of the page, scroll down to "Applicant Resources." From there, select “Student Resources," then select “MyCougar Health." This will redirect you to the Electronic Medical Record Portal. Follow the instructions to submit your records. Questions? Contact the APU Student Health Center at (626) 815-2100.

Sign Your FERPA Authorization

The federal government requires Azusa Pacific to have your permission to share details of your account with certain individuals. Please complete the FERPA Authorization at home.apu.edu by selecting “UG Enrollment Services Center,” then ”Update My Information.” Learn more about FERPA. For questions, contact the Undergraduate Enrollment Services Center at (626) 815-2020.

Enrolling in Electronic Funds Transfer allows APU to send any refunds on your student account directly to your bank account. To sign up, visit home.apu.edu and select “Financials,” then ”Billing and Payment (CASHNet)." Once in CASHNet, select “Enroll in Electronic Refunds” under “Direct Deposit/Electronic Refunds (ACH)” to provide your bank account information. For questions, contact the Undergraduate Enrollment Services Center at (626) 815-2020.

Set Up Authorized Payers

Adding authorized payers to your account allows others, such as parents and spouses, to view your statements and make online payments. To set up an authorized payer, visit apu.edu/cashnet/, click on “Student,” then select “Add New” under the Parent/Authorized Payers section.

Sign Up for Welcome Days

Recommended Registration by July 31

We can’t wait to welcome you to the APU Family this fall! Welcome Days will take place before fall classes begin and are designed to prepare you academically and socially, keeping you well informed of APU’s resources to thrive as a student! Attending a Welcome Day is required for all new students and you must register to attend! Families and/or guests are also invited. Spanish translation will be provided for all plenary sessions. Transfer Students: Choose a Dining Plan

The Cougar Traditional dining plan is required for all incoming students living in residence halls, and enrollment in the plan is automatic. If you plan to live in an on-campus apartment, you are not required to purchase a dining plan but can do so as a supplement to making your own food. Enroll in a dining plan at home.apu.edu by selecting “UG Enrollment Services Center,” then “My Financial Account," then “Add or Change My Meal Plan.”

Watch for Your First Statement

Your first statement will be available in early July and can be accessed through CASHNet. Your first payment will be due August 1.

Watch for Your Housing Assignment

If you plan to live on campus, watch for your housing assignment and roommate information in early July! You’ll receive an email with instructions on how to view your assignment.

Plan for Your Arrival

Register for Global Student Orientation! Plan to arrive in the U.S. and at APU no earlier than August 15 and no later than August 20. Students with assigned on-campus housing are able to move into their rooms anytime between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Students will need to arrange travel from the airport to their hotel or Azusa Pacific University.

Purchase Your Books

Don’t wait until the semester starts—visit www.bookstore.apu.edu to generate a book list based on your courses and purchase your books.

Shop for Living Area Supplies

If you’re planning to live on campus, it’s time to purchase those much-needed items like bedding, school supplies, toiletries, and more. Use the Housing Packing List to help as you shop, and be sure to coordinate any big items with your roommate(s).

Complete Title IX Training

To encourage a safe and positive campus community grounded in personal integrity, civility, and mutual respect free from discrimination on the basis of sex, including all forms of sexual harassment and sexual violence, all new students are required to complete an online Title IX and Alcohol Education training. You will receive an email with instructions on how to access and complete this training. Learn more about Title IX at APU.

Welcome Days

If you have not signed up for Welcome Days, do so by August 14. Welcome Days are a unique opportunity for students and families to not only gain information about the university, but to build memories and simply have a great time. Our goal is for all students and their families/guests feel a sense of belonging as they begin their journey at APU.
