We’re so excited you’re planning to travel to Azusa Pacific for a transformational college experience. We know the process from acceptance to starting classes on campus can be a little daunting, but whether you’re an international student or an American who grew up abroad, our International Center staff are ready to help you every step of the way. Use the following month-by-month checklist to help you complete the requirements before you start your first day on campus.

First Steps

Make Your Enrollment Deposit

For admitted students, submitting your enrollment deposit is the first step in saying, “I’m ready to start my journey at Azusa Pacific.” Submit your deposit through CASHNet using the button below. Click on “Enrollment Deposit” and complete the payment information. For questions, contact International Enrollment at (626) 812-3055.

New Student Checklist

It’s official! You’ve deposited! Now you can start taking the next steps as a soon-to-be APU student. The following checklist includes an overview of what you need to do, as well as a general timeline and deadlines; however, we highly recommend submitting any required forms, registrations, or assessments as soon as you are able. Let’s get started!

In April

Complete Your Registration Profile

Your admissions counselor will provide you with this form, which captures your academic profile, including in-progress work and any AP or IB tests you may take. This helps us best advise you on class choice as you begin building your academic schedule. You will also choose which summer orientation you will attend. Questions? Set Up Your Student Portal Access

After you submit your registration profile, you’ll receive an email with instructions on how to access your student portal at This is where you will register for classes, make payments, and more. Questions? Contact International Enrollment at (626) 812-3055.

Take Any Necessary Placement Assessments

These assessments are used to place you into courses that match your current and potential skills and abilities, and must be completed before you register for your first APU class in the corresponding subjects. Select each subject below to follow the steps and see if you are required to take an assessment, and steps for taking that assessment.

In May


International students who are not currently studying in the USA will need to obtain a student visa. Learn more about Student Visa and Immigration.

International students who are currently studying in the USA at a high school, community college, or other university will need to complete the Transfer In Authorization Form (PDF) and submit it to the immigration advisor (DSO) at their current school.

Attend Summer Orientation

Summer Orientation is a one-day event for all undergraduate students admitted to APU for fall. Register online for this opportunity to connect with representatives of your desired major, learn about on-campus resources, and build your fall class schedule. Students should register for this event through their registration profile.

The Global Student Orientation is August 21-22 and Welcome Weekend is August 23-25.

Class Registration

Course registration will take place at the Summer Orientation event you attend. Our staff will walk you through registering for fall semester classes and will provide resources, assistance, and help answering any questions you may have.

Sign up for Global Student Orientation and Early Arrival

Recommended Registration by June 30

We can’t wait to welcome you! International students are required to attend both Global Student Orientation (August 21-22) and Welcome Weekend. International students who are U.S. citizens are welcome to attend Global Student Orientation, but are not required to attend. Plan to arrive on the APU campus no earlier than August 15 and no later than August 20. For questions, contact International Students and Scholars at

Submit Immunization Records

At, navigate to the Student Center tab. Then click on the “Self Service” menu and select “My Cougar Health,” which will redirect you to the Electronic Medical Record Portal. Follow the instructions to submit your records. Questions? Contact the APU Student Health Center at (626) 815-2100.

Please note: If you are unable to acquire your immunization record or get all necessary immunizations, you will be able to get your immunizations at the Student Health Center during Global Student Orientation.

Sign Your FERPA Release

The federal government requires Azusa Pacific to have your permission to share details of your account with certain individuals. Please complete the FERPA Release online, available through on the UG Enrollment Services Center tab. Learn more about FERPA.

Set Up Authorized Payers

Adding authorized payers to your account allows others, such as parents and spouses, to view your statements and make online payments. To set up an authorized payer, visit, click on “Student,” then select “Add New” under the Parent PINs section.

Have Outstanding Checklist Items?

To ensure that you are prepared for the fall semester, check out your To Do List for any outstanding items.

Just visit your UG Enrollment Services Center tab on and click “To Dos” under "My Financial Aid” to see which tasks are left.

Submit Mailbox Form and ID Photo

Due June 30


Your on-campus mailbox serves as your U.S. mailing address, which is required to send packages and open a bank account. Submit student mailbox form.

ID Card Photo

Email with your name, APU ID number, and an attached recent headshot so your APU ID card will be available for pickup at GSO. If you live in an on-campus dorm, your ID card is also your room access key.

In July

Sign up for Welcome Weekend

Recommended Registration by July 31

We can’t wait to welcome you to campus this fall. You must register to attend Welcome Weekend, required for new students, which includes a number of fun and informative events to help you start the year off right. Families are invited to attend as well. Register by July 31 to be entered into a giveaway drawing!

Choose a Dining Plan

The Cougar Traditional dining plan is required for all incoming students living in residence halls, and enrollment in the plan is automatic. If you are placed in an on-campus apartment, you are not required to purchase a dining plan but can do so as a supplement to making your own food. Enroll in a dining plan through the UG Enrollment Services Center tab on Select “Add or Change My Meal Plan” in the “My Financial Account” section. Dining plans begin on the first day of classes.

Watch for Your First Statement

Your first statement will be available in early July and can be accessed through CASHNet. Your first payment will be due August 1.

Watch for Your Housing Assignment

If you plan to live on campus, watch for your housing assignment and roommate information in early July! You’ll receive an email with instructions on how to view your assignment.

Plan for your arrival

Register for GSO! Plan to arrive in the U.S. and at APU no earlier than August 15 and no later than August 20. Students with assigned on-campus housing are able to move into their rooms then. Airport pickup service to campus housing is available to undergraduate students August 15-20, 8 a.m.-6 p.m., and must be prearranged and approved by your enrollment counselor. Students may also arrange their own transportation to the APU campus. Students with flights arriving after 4 p.m. won’t be able to move into on-campus housing until the next day, and must arrange and pay for overnight accommodations at a hotel near APU. Airport pickup service is provided only to hotels indicated on the GSO list.

Purchase Your Books

Don’t wait until the semester starts—visit to generate a book list based on your courses and purchase your books.

Shop for Living Area Supplies

If you’re planning to live on campus, it’s time to purchase those much needed items like bedding, school supplies, toiletries, and more. Use the Housing Packing List to help as you shop, and be sure to coordinate any big items with your roommate(s).

Countdown to Welcome Weekend

Follow the countdown clock and share your excitement for your first day at APU on social media using #iheartAPU!

GSO Early Arrival and Services Help

August 15-20

Our Global Student Orientation staff and student leaders will help you move into your dorm and provide services to prepare for your time at Azusa Pacific University. Register for GSO so our team is aware of your arrival date on the APU campus. Upon your arrival to the APU campus, visit the International Center between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. to check in.

Welcome Weekend is a unique opportunity for students and families to not only gain information about the university, but to build memories, form bonds, and simply have a great time. Our goal is that all students and their families/guests feel a sense of belonging as they begin their journey at APU.
