Jennifer Tran, PhD, FNP-BC, PMHNP-BC, CNS, is a nurse practitioner, educator, and military officer dedicated to improving health care access for underserved populations. Raised in El Monte, California, she began her service career at seventeen when she enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving as a hospital corpsman from 2001 to 2007. Following her honorable discharge, she pursued a career in nursing and advanced her education, ultimately earning a PhD in Nursing from Azusa Pacific University.
Tran currently serves as an assistant professor at Azusa Pacific University, where she integrates faith-informed principles into her teaching and mentorship. She previously contributed to the MSN-FNP program at the University of Southern California and remains committed to preparing the next generation of healthcare providers. In clinical practice, she works in street medicine with Healthcare in Action, providing care to individuals experiencing homelessness. She continues her military service as a Nurse Corps officer in the U.S. Navy Reserve, supporting the health and readiness of service members and their families. Her professional interests include homelessness, veterans’ mental health, and workforce development through mentorship and education. Committed to service, she strives to expand access to care and advocate for vulnerable communities.
