Brand Trainings
SCE plans to host brand training sessions for our campus partners beginning in spring 2026.
The APU Athletics brand, governed by a separate set of guidelines, builds even greater affinity among students, alumni, faculty, staff, and the broader community.
Based on extensive research and key partnerships between the Division of Strategic Communication and Engagement, the Athletic Department, and other key university divisions, the marks are now available.
Email [email protected] to request the athletic marks and refer to the Athletic Brand Standards (PDF) for correct usage.
At Azusa Pacific University, we believe in the transformative power of human stories. A story can move, empower, teach, humble, and inspire individuals and communities. The Division of Strategic Communication and Engagement’s visual storytelling team is tasked with capturing the narratives of alumni, students, staff, and faculty on film.
For those interested in creating their own videos, we encourage you to review our Video Production Toolkit (PDF), which outlines our general standards and guidelines for video productions created on behalf of Azusa Pacific University, and submit a request to SCE. We can support your production by providing footage and review to ensure alignment with APU’s communication goals.
Social media offers a great way to inform, engage, and educate an audience. In addition to Azusa Pacific University’s institutional accounts managed by the Division of Strategic Communication and Engagement, many departments, offices, athletic teams, and other areas of the university use social media to communicate with their audiences to help tell the APU story.
If you plan to create an account on behalf of a university department, office, program, or event, or you manage existing accounts, review APU’s Social Media Guidelines and Tips (PDF) to learn about representing the brand, creating a content schedule, and posting best practices.
In order to present consistent and accurate language, style, and voice to properly brand the university, Strategic Communication and Engagement adheres to an Editorial Style Guide that determines the standards and style of university communication.
We recommend that offices, schools, and departments on campus use the guide as a helpful reference in university-wide efforts to maintain consistency in our language and style to align with our brand standards. The Division of Strategic Communication and Engagement regularly updates this guide to align with institutional changes and industry trends.
Editorial Style Guide for APU (PDF) Provides specific guidelines, based on The Chicago Manual of Style, for writing and editing.
The Division of Strategic Communication and Engagement recognizes the importance of making sure APU-related digital communication is accessible to all potential users, including those with disabilities. To meet this need, we developed an Accessibility Toolkit (PDF) that we encourage you to download and use. The Accessibility Toolkit contains basic guidelines on how to set up websites, emails, images, and social media posts so individuals with disabilities can access all available information.
Employees are encouraged to create a professional Azusa Pacific University email signature.
