Biography

Jess Paik, MEd, specialized in visual art and design at a conservatory school from the 7th to 12th grade, and continued her college education at the Rhode Island School of Design. Since 2009, she freelanced as a designer, and worked as an arts educator for museums and after-school programs. Combining her passions for art, design and education, she procured her Master’s in Education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education (HGSE). Currently, Paik continues to research visual literacy and design in education as an assistant professor and program director for the user experience design master’s program at the Azusa Pacific University (APU). She also continues to work professionally and remotely as a graphic designer for Stanford Health Care’s Blood Center to keep The unique collaboration between her teaching and professional careers work hand-in-hand to develop collaborative educational opportunities for budding designers!
