Mark Cawman, DBA, taught part-time at Concordia University-Portland from 2015 to 2020 and has significant experience in industry. Most recently he was vice president for Pexco Aerospace, where he spun up a material science and R&D lab that resulted in several new materials and patents. He was very involved in new product development, processes, and systems, along with strategic planning. In prior experience with GE Aviation, he supported the supply chain and managed a team scattered across the U.S., Europe, and Asia, and spent a great deal of time in the global supply base, leading corporate training programs for suppliers. In 2005, he won the Leadership Bronze Eagle with Smiths Aerospace, where he led cost reductions/LEAN programs in the global supply base. Earlier in his career, he was part of a “greenfield team” that started up several factories in Mexico. Cawman has 26 years of experience in the aerospace and automotive manufacturing sectors, and continues to research in the areas of strategic management, international business, operations management, organizational behavior, quality management, and leadership.
