Biography

Don Neufeld, MA, has composed and arranged a large number of works in a variety of styles. Many of these are recorded on labels such as Resmiranda, Telarc and Pauline Records. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Pasadena College (now Point Loma University) in Music Education and a Master of Arts in Music Theory from California State University, Fullerton.

Neufeld has been an APU faculty member since 1972 in the areas of music theory and music education. He has arranged and composed music for various university ensembles and serves as a consultant and resource for churches and musical organizations. His teaching assignments in the area of Music Theory have included undergraduate and graduate courses in music theory, counterpoint, orchestration, arranging and form and analysis. He has also taught all of the Techniques courses (Woodwinds, brass, percussion and strings) in the Music Education program.

He served as interim dean of the School of Music in 1998-99 and dean of the School of music from 2010-2013.
