Biography

Rebekah Harris, MS, is responsible for coordinating curriculum planning and updates through university and accreditation processes; overseeing School of Education national and state accreditation activities; collaborating with educator preparation programs located in the School of Behavioral and Applied Sciences, School of Nursing, and University Libraries; and overseeing the Office of Credentials, the Senior Accreditation/Assessment Specialist, and the Academic Services Coordinator. Harris serves in various accreditation related roles (e.g., program reviewer, lead site visitor) for the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) and the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC). Additionally, in her role as Program Director, Harris administers the Master’s degree and Credential programs in K-12 Educational Leadership, overseeing curricula, coursework, advising, and other program processes. Prior to coming to APU in fall 2012, she served for 10 years as a program specialist for the Florida Department of Education, where her responsibilities included the development and implementation of standards for education preparation and certification. Harris also directed several projects specific to Section D – Great Teachers and Leaders of Florida’s $700 million Race to the Top fund.
