DSST Testing

DANTES Subject Standardized Tests (DSST) are recommended for credit by the American Council on Education (ACE). APU’s subject-level exams are offered in diverse disciplines and cover upper- and lower-level baccalaureate credit courses. DSST exams are available to anyone who is seeking college credit outside the classroom, including college students, adult learners, high school students, and military personnel.

To register for a DSST exam, schedule an exam with the Learning Enrichment Center online.

On the Day of the Exam

Bring a government-issued ID, a $30 (cash, check, or card) administration fee, and a credit/debit card to purchase the exam ($80). You will be instructed to put away all of your belongings (including cell phones, calculators, wallets, etc.) in a locker. You will also be recorded while in the testing room.

You will receive an unnoficial score at the end of the exam. The score will be sent to your institution 3-4 weeks after your exam date.
