About the Program

Why This Major Is Relevant

When it comes to serving youth, the opportunities are endless. You may dream of reaching at-risk teens in the heart of Los Angeles or directing a sports camp for student athletes. You can transform families through a ministry in your local church or join a wave of youth revival in South America. The youth and family ministries program at APU is designed to equip you for youth ministry in a variety of settings, inside or outside the church.

Gain In-depth Learning Experiences

A well-rounded curriculum prepares you with biblical and theological knowledge, as well as insight into adolescent development and effective ministry practices. Connect with faculty-mentors who pass down wisdom and passion from years of ministry experience, while coming alongside you as you discover your unique calling. Your senior year offers the chance to put learning into practice as you gain real-world ministry experience in a two-semester internship in a local church or organization and graduate with a year of relevant experience on your résumé.
