Nicole has a rich career in both academia and nursing service. In academia, she has participated in developing new curriculum for the following courses using both face-to-face and online delivery methods: Maternal and Newborn, Fundamentals, Conceptual Foundations, Leadership, Mental Health, Research, and Quality Improvement. As a Clinical Educator, she developed and provided educational guidance for over 150 clinical staff. She has created and implemented departmental policies and sat on two Magnet Committee Councils. Nicole utilizes innovative technology and transformational educational strategies to help engage student learning as well as support their professional role development. Nicole has a passion for helping nurses develop their critical thinking skills and competencies required to promote health, prevent and cure disease, advanced biomedical research within our health-complex and changing world. Nicole has presented research posters on breastfeeding topics at the Western Institute of Nursing and the Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland. Currently, Nicole is completing her coursework at the University of Arizona in their PhD program. The focus of her dissertation is the exploration of facilitators and barriers with breastfeeding among partners of enlisted members.
